Hello again everyone! It truly has been a while. How is life? I heard that we are about to study offline again next semester. Are you excited, or do you prefer studying online more?
Well, whether we are studying online or offline, we must not stop learning, which is why today, I am sharing another technological tool that I think a lot of people are quite familiar with: Padlet. For those of you who have just heard of it, stick around to see what this tool is and if you are already a user of Padlet, I have a special video to give you ideas on how to implement it in your next teaching session.
What is Padlet? From looks alone, Padlet looks like one big board where you can stick all of your notes and organize important things there. However, Padlet does more than that. It allows you to collaborate with others and create other things such as a moodboard, portfolio page, or even a gallery to store your memories with their various formats. You can even post files other than mere pictures such as Photoshop files and links from Spotify or Youtube.
Apart from the various features, using it is quite easy as you can sign in using your Google account then directly create your own Padlet, join one from an shareable link, or look for inspiration from the Gallery.
To add any posts, you can simply tap the '+' button on the bottom right corner and or double click anywhere on your Padlet. As you can see, you can choose to write something, insert pictures, and also links.
You can also customize the colors and even transfer the post to other Padlets! Super hassle-free.
What can I use Padlet for?Lots of things! It is available for personal and non-personal usage. In teaching and learning, you can use it to facilitate activities such as asking for students' opinions and or answers, and you can even use it to get students to know each other by posting their pictures. Here are examples on how you can use it.
To give you a real demonstration on using Padlet in the classroom, check out
this video! It's a compilation of teaching demonstrations done by my friends.
So, as you can see, Padlet is a lovely tool that can be used from keeping your assignments in order to encouraging more active participations from students in the classroom; it's up to you to get creative! Ready to use it? Share your Padlet down below; I'd love to see your creations!
