Making Flashcards with Quizlet

Hi there!

I know that with the exams getting near, we all have to study and review our materials. However, reviewing can get confusing when we don't know the key terms or struggle to note them down. To solve this, flashcards can greatly help, and today, I will introduce a tool to not only make flashcards, but use them to study in various modes: Quizlet!

What is Quizlet?
Quizlet's main feature is creating flashcards which you can use to study in a variety of ways. How many ways are there, exactly?

As you can see from the picture, there are more than 3 modes to study in Quizlet. Let's explore them one by one.

Flashcards
You can flip through every card to review key terms, vocabularies, or definitions; the possibilities are endless. All you have to do is click on the card to flip it, then use the arrows to go back and forth amongst the flashcard pile.

Learn
In this mode, you will be given multiple-choice matching items, which is very suitable to test your knowledge on definition and or key terms.

Match
In this mode, you have to match each pair of flashcards by dragging one to the other. This mode feels a bit more challenging thanks to the running time at the left side of the screen.

Gravity
This one is more unique compared to the previous modes. The scenario is that asteroids containing words from your flashcard is falling to Earth, and you must stop it by quickly typing in the matching pair of the word before the asteroid falls. Because of the speed and accuracy needed, this mode would not be very suitable if the answers are long.

Write
Much like the name itself, all you have to do it write down the answer to the question shown; it's like Gravity, but much less competitive. You can also track down your correct and incorrect answers, and skip the questions if you don't know the answer.

Spell
This mode is perfect for practicing your listening skills, because you have to write the word/words which you hear from an audio.

Test
If you have explored each of the modes, you can use this one as an ultimate test. It is a combination of written, matching, multiple choice, and true/false items.

How do you create a study set with Quizlet?
Now, let's try creating flashcards with Quizlet.
1. First, click the Create option and pick Study set.
2. You can directly input the title and description of the study set, then add a card by directly typing the term and its definition. If you want to add more cards, you can click the Add Card option at the bottom of the screen. You can also add an image from Quizlet's library or your PC/smartphone.
3. If you are finished, all you have to do is press Create, and voila! Your flashcards are ready to be used.

It only takes three steps for you to create your own learning tool which can greatly help in remembering concepts, picking up new words, or just to have fun! If you want to try first, try mine: https://quizlet.com/id/591240384/flash-cards/
